Briar needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Some dogs start out life and have it all, warm loving dog parents, plenty of good food, a soft bed. It was not like that for poor Briar. He surely lost in the lottery of life, finding himself with uncaring people who ultimately left him to die. His owners moved away and left him chained in the backyard.  The neighbors called animal control to report it.  Animal control could only leave a note on the door for 3 days to wait for a response.  The neighbors begged them to take him because they knew the owners were gone.   They couldn't and this sad and starving dog had to stay 3 more days with no food, no water, and no shelter before being picked up.  They don't know how long he was out there like that before the neighbors called.  His foster now describes him as very shy, but very sweet.  Everyone who meets him, loves him. After all that abuse, he remains trusting of humans. We find this just amazing. We are looking for a person or family who wants to show Briar that people can be loving and worthy of this dog's spectacular character. His heart is full of love that he has tried to give, over and over. Perhaps you will be the one to accept his gift.
