Pepper needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

We thought to help introduce you to Pepper, we'd let her foster tell you what she loves best about her..."She is the softest dog that I have ever met. She is like petting a baby rabbit. She loves the attention, gets along with most dogs but just isn't a big play dog, she loves her people more."

Pepper is a dog full of potential. She wants so much to be loved and has so much in her heart to give back. In the prime of her life, she already has many wonderful attributes that will make her the best dog you have ever had.  Never hyper, she is a calm, laid back kind of girl. Don't get us wrong, she loves to play, will be thrilled to go for walks, even runs, but she is not a demanding dog in general. Mostly, she is a loving dog.  She walks beautifully on lead.

She loves to give love, adores attention, and will follow you with her eyes to see if you want her to do something. She is also very well leash trained, so taking her for those walks will be fun for both of you. AND, she knows commands already, being especially good at "sit!" loyal beyond belief to her person or family. She would truly give her life for you, she is always ready for fun, too.

She has not been treated well so far in her life and needs a few minutes to warm up to new people and make sure that they aren't going to hurt her. She was attacked by other dogs at the shelter and now she can be afraid of some dogs. She will turn to her human, often get actually behind you, hoping for protection. Her beautiful spirit needs someone who will help her to heal and learn that there are great things out in the world that are fun and don't hurt.  Look into her eyes in this picture. You will see it, too. She is hoping you are "the one" who will come for her. She will love you forever and ever.

She is very sweet and timid  Is nice with the resident 4 yo child. She just needs to feel safe. !! We sat in the back field tonight and just listened to the birds and other out in the boonies sounds She just layed close to me and sniffed and cocked her head. She is calming as she learns to trust.

She needs a dog savvy home that will be patient with her. We prefer she NOT go to a home with young children as they tend to scare her. PEPPER MUST HAVE A FENCED YARD!
