All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Big boy Josh, such a good dog! So sweet and loving. He gets along with everyone. A good ole boy in every respect. He is anxious to be loved. So anxious, in fact, that he will lean into your leg and look up at you with those great brown eyes, imploring you to pet him and love him back. Hear what his foster has to say about him:

So far, this dog has been a perfect gentleman and also very gentle.  He walked into his crate with no problem, slept all night and is now playing around in the backyard.  He fell in love with my husband immediately and actually leaned into his legs, slid down his legs and turned over on his back!  So very loving.

What a gentle soul!  He was such a lover and a leaner as you can see leaning on his foster mom Cindy. He went straight to Cindy's husband and gave him his paw and leaned on him like he knew him.

He knew what "kennel up" meant, jumped right up in the back of my suv into the crate and knew what "go for a ride" meant when we stopped for a pee break  Got right back in.  He was no trouble at all.  Cindy took him straight to Hardee's for a cheeseburger, and he looked at her like where's the next one.

Josh is an older dog, but still loves to play and enjoys life very much. He is quite thin and we are giving him good food to help him put on some needed weight. He is currently being treated for heartworm, but the rescue is taking care of that and he will come out a nice, healthy boy. He has not seen a lot of care and love so far in his life, but it looks to us that Josh has just stored all that love he had from puppyhood up in his heart and will give it away to his person. Such a loyal and grateful dog. One you can play with in the backyard, take for wonderful walks, and enjoy having curl up near you each evening, content to know that at long last, he has a home and someone who cares for him.
AN UPDATE NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER:
Josh is a big sweet love bug who would be happy being an 85 lb. lap dog.  He loves to eat and loves to play.  He gets along well with other dogs and with cats.  He's been around children at adoption events and does well with them.  In fact, he loves everybody.  He loves toys and really enjoys tearing them apart (LOL).  He is finishing up heartworm treatment and has tolerated it very well.  He can be laid back, but he also loves to be active.  He has a deep enough bark that he can sound the alarm if someone new comes on your property.   He would be a great family dog.  He would not require a fence as long as you would walk him and keep him active.
