All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Can you say "happy dog?" Maybe we should say "very friendly", or perhaps "outgoing".  Full of the joy of life, and still so young, Banjo has all the "smarts" of his breed and has yet to give his loyal shepherd heart away. Could you be the lucky person who receives the gift of that incredible, legendary shepherd loyalty? Here is what his foster has to say about him...

"He loves everyone! He has never met a stranger. I think he would be great around males, females, and considerate children. He is a bit intimidated by the pack of 4 wiener dogs he is housed with and is very submissive with them. He needs some obedience training but he listens and minds well when you work with him. I don't think anyone has ever formally worked with him but very trainable." He will NOT work with cats..

He is an exceptional dog.  His temperament is very sweet and he is not at all wild.  He loves people and is friendly to other dogs. He cannot tolerate a crate, but he has shown no signs of being destructive. He sleeps on the floor beside my bed and likes to lounge on the sofa while I read or watch tv.

If you are ready for this puppy in your life, know that he comes totally vetted. We have gotten him all his shots, had him neutered, and even microchipped him for you.  He has his bags packed and is ready to be your very best dog.
AN UPDATE FROM baNJO'S FOSTER: I am fostering Banjo and would like to tell you a little bit about him. He is a good dog with a great heart.  I have never seen him show any aggression toward any person or other dog.  He loves everybody he meets.  He's smart.  He learned his way around the house and learned to climb the open staircase in just two days. He always comes when called, He is really cute.  He doesn't exactly run, he hops. He likes to throw stuffed animals around and then chase them.  He will also roll his ball across the floor and then take off after it. He sleeps in my bed at night and loves to cuddle up close. He makes a nice heating pad and doesn't stir all night.  Not much of a barker, but he is starting to learn the difference between people he knows and strangers, and he will bark a bit when someone strange approaches, wagging his tail the whole time.  Then he loves them up. I am working on housebreaking him.  This is taking a little longer than usual, as he becomes anxious when left in a crate.  He is doing better now, and I am confident that he will become reliable in the house in a short time. Banjo is one of the nicest puppies I have ever fostered, and he is going to make a wonderful family pet.
