Login to Remember your Favorite Animals and Breeds!

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Young William, or Little Willie, as we call him, is a dog with great potential to be the very best dog you have ever had. He has everything going for him, from his youth, to his intelligence, to his naturally friendly temperament. He certainly has that famous shepherd heart that will bond tightly with his family, and he already loves children and other dogs. And there is a bonus! He is already crate and house trained! How perfect. Full of life, and loving to play, he is going to be a joy to have at your house. Think of romping with him in your backyard, and taking him for walks. This guy has "family dog" written all over him.
We want you to know that we take every care with our dogs up for adoption and we always tell you everything we know about our dogs. William is a wonderfu, friendly, loving boy and we want him to have the best. His limp is fixable and our rescue will pay for his surgery.  We had our vet check out his limp and here is what he said...

Doctor consult:

William came to our rescue with a limp, and after an initial visit with a veterinarian, he was sent to a vet that specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine for dogs. An MRI revealed that William was younger than we thought, most likely turning 1 year old late September or early October. This conclusion was reached after studying his growth plates, noting they did not look like a fully grown dog. At that time, William was also diagnosed with a congenital condition called a patellar luxation, which is called a "floating knee cap" in layman's terms. He will require surgery somewhere after his first birthday which will restore his leg completely.

He is able to walk and run right now, but will limp if he over does it.  He is a very active dog, and needs to be able to run. It will be a bit challenging to care for him post-surgery, so he will need someone to be home most of the time.

His recovery will be 12 weeks.  The first 4 weeks will require him to be crated with a collar that prevents him from licking to remove or irritate his sutures. He can only walk to go outside for a few minutes.  The next 4 weeks will be more mobile-on a leash for short walks. The last 4 weeks will be to build up his strength and to exercise the leg-but still on a leash.  His surgery is expensive, and will be covered by this rescue.  We are seeking ways to fund it right now.  Please apply for William only if you have the time to dedicate to him after his surgery, so his recovery is a complete success!!!
