Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Hi - My name is Ben and I love everyone! You can probably already tell that I am a hound dog. People say hounds are the best and I agree. I am the best. My foster mama says I am still a silly puppy sometimes. I don't know what that means, but I do get excited to meet people. I am learning about something called 'manners'. That means that even though I am excited, I am not allowed to jump up. So far, I really like every dog I meet. I like them so much that I can sometimes pester them to play a bit too much. Guess that's manners, too. Foster mama says I am a smart, affectionate boy who is eager to please. I say when I sit down, I get a treat and I can work with that.

Ben is about a year old. He is doing great on manners and housetraining, but he'll need some training in his forever home. Ben can act a bit silly, so he'd need to be closely supervised around very small children to be sure he doesn't accidentally knock them down. Ben would love a doggy friend or two. He is a rough and tumble, race-around playmate and his dog buddies should be similar. Like all hounds, Ben has a lazy side and loves to snooze and cuddle.

Ben is house trained and can be kept loose or crated.
