All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Maya is a sweet, older lady. And we mean "lady". She is quiet, loving, with good manners. She loves everyone and was abandoned by her owners only because she got old. She was looking forward to lying in the sun, going on quiet walks, lying at the feet of those she loves, being her gentle self always. Sometimes life doesn't  turn out the way you expect. But Maya is still hoping. She is ready to trust and love again. The joys of having an older dog are known to anyone who has ever had the love of a senior. She will be grateful to you always and when she looks at you with those adoring eyes, you will know you did the right thing and the universe will be whole.
Maya really needs a fenced yard as she is still quite active... we also will only place her in an experience dog home with no young children.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER HOME; Maya is doing really good. She is getting better at walking on the leash every day and getting used more to being inside a home. She is such a love! Her favorite things are eating, the dog bed and being petted. She is starved for being petted, she closes her eyes and lets out this pleasure moan! She breaks my hearty each time I look at her because I think of the life she had, the malnutrition, the beating...
