Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about her.
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
About Tova | |
|
Tova is a sweet, shy little girl who has made a miraculous escape from the puppy mill system. At only a year old, the terrible memories should fade with love and kindness and Tova should have a long and happy life. Purebred and perfect, sh eis healthy and up on all her shots. She is also mircochipped already for you. Ready to find out what the wonderful world holds outside of a wire cage, everything you show her will be new to her, including your gentle touch on her head, going for walks, having a soft bed, and most of all, being loved for the puppy she is inside.
NOTE: Tova will do best in an all adult home.
NOTE FROM HER FOSTER: I was laying on the couch watching tv and she was desperately trying to get me to play with her. She would paw to get my attention and after about an half an hour (yes I missed the show I was watching!) I brought her up on the couch. She was in heaven! I ended up falling asleep only to be awakened by her nonstop puppy kisses.
When I first got home from work last night I also took her outside without her leash to where she stayed in very close proximity to where I was. This is a dog that only wants to be where you are and with you. She is happy laying at your feet or on the couch as long as she is close to you. Kisses will come as yesterday was just Monday and I was slathered with them.
NEWEST UPDATE ON OUR TOVA: This is what I have observed with Tova and she has been with me for a month and a couple of weeks. She lacks self confidence with any strangers, especially children. She is not fond of men at all. She can be completely relaxed with me and all the other dogs outside, playing and if she sees my husband come outside she immediately changes to the dog that will keep her distance and bark at him.
When it is just the two of us, she is in heaven. There is a little bed in my office where she gets into and sleeps relaxed. If I am bathing or showering she is right there, either hanging over the tub or peeking into the shower. I would to see Tova blossom as she is one of the most loving dog I have fostered in a while. She loves being with you, gives kisses, runs like the wind outside and just has a ball. Her recall needs improvement at best and I have to always remember to use a soft asking voice with her.
If you would like to love our Tova and help her to see everything for the first time, please contact Marsha at:
If you are interested in Tova, please read the following about puppy mills and what to expect from a puppy mill dog coming into your home. They are special dogs and need extra time and love to learn.

PLEASE NOTE;Puppy mill rescues are not able to be placed in a home without dog experience (no first time dog owners); must not go to a home with young children (too much activity for the dog trying to "make it" in the outside world); and must go to a home where they will not be left for more than a four hour stretch.
