All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
About Milton | |
|
Milton is a perfect companion for a more mature home. He is quiet, sweet, laid back, and content to sleep nearby. Milton is great with dogs, cats, and kids. It is sad to imagine why someone left poor Milton at our local hospital. Thank goodness loving people saved him and are fostering Milton until a loving forever home finds him!

FROM FOSTER:
For a senior dog, Milton is very active - when he is not snoozing. He has the personality of a cat, yet is smaller than any of our cats, and we have 10 of them. He is extremely curious and pushes your buttons when you tell him "no" to anything. He likes to get into the cat food so we set up a barrier that keeps him away from it, but which the cats can easily jump over. He is getting quite good at going to the front door when he needs (or wants) to go outside to do his business. He likes to explore and we have 5 acres to explore. He has adapted extremely well to our household and seems to go with the flow. Milton like to be with someone, sitting on your lap, or in bed with you!
NEWEST UPDATE: We are pretty sure he is deaf and believe that is why he is so quiet and does not bark. He makes very little verbal noise. We are learning to do hand signals to get him to come, go outside, eat, sit. etc. Milton likes to be with us 24/7. He is now accustomed to the pre travel routine and when Tom puts his hat on and picks up his keys, Milton heads for the front door, walks to the side of the car and waits! He likes to go outside requently and will walk forever if you are with him. If we leave him at home alone for a couple of hours, he will go right to either one of his beds and sleep (or pout) until you return. then he is happy running around wagging his tail. He is a finicky eater, but will eat a hamburger when we go out without any coaxing. When he is finished, he pushes his paper up like he is folding it up to throw away! Milton is a pretty clever, smart little pooch!
