Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about her.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

A purebred Maltese, sweet little Vidalia is a survivor of the puppy mill industry. Still young, she has escaped terrible conditions and, we believe, should be treated like the tiny princess she was always meant to be. Soft and silky, she is all ready for pink bows, soft cushions, and happy walks. Still a little bit shy, once you earn her trust, she will give you her whole life. It will take some time, for sure, for her to completely recover from her experiences in the Mill and you will need to go slowly with her so she finds out about the wonders of the world a few at a time and at a comfortable pace.

*Note from Foster:  Vidalia needs to go to a home that has other small dogs, as she loves the companionship of another dog.  Her foster says Miss V is most comfortable being a lap dog!  She has learned to trust, is easily crated, and is very well adjusted!  She has no bad habits and no quirks from being in the puppy mill.  She's making huge strides, and will be the perfect little girl for a lucky family!

If you are interested in this dog, please read our links to the puppy mill industry, so you will understand what has happened in its background and have a good idea of what to expect from its behavior as it adjusts to the new and happy world this dog is discovering.

PLEASE NOTE: Puppy mill rescues are not able to be placed in a home without dog experience (no first time dog owners); must not go to a home with young children (too much activity for the dog trying to "make it" in the outside world); and must go to a home where they will not be left for more than a four-hour stretch.
