All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Sawyer is a wonderful big loveable Golden Retriever.  He is in a home with 5 other dogs ranging from a 7 lb Yorkie to a 70lb German Shepherd and has never been a problem with any of them. Even when the Yorkie, Abbie wants to hang from his ear or when Jenna wants to tackle him in the yard he has never been anything but happy about it. He is familiar with cats, we had 2 in the house with him and he never hurt them  Sawyer has been around lots of people and always wags his tail and wants to play with anyone who will, so this is where he has trouble remembering he weighs over 100lbs! He can knock people down, so needs to be trained in this department. Sawyer loves to run in the yard and chase after a ball or most anything you throw for him to 'go get' although he doesn't like to give the ball back without a good arm workout. He is house trained . He is familiar with a crate. He does know a few basic commands like sit, come, go get it(when you throw a ball etc) and how to give either of his front paws when asked while sitting. Sawyer loves to be outside in the yard and really enjoys digging. He has been known to dig holes big enough to hid a football in but if you catch him doing it he will stop when told to 'STOP IT'.  Sawyer is a good listener and you can tell it in his eyes when he calms down and listens to someone. Sawyer needs a canine friend and fenced yard.
