All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

|
Joey is a great “little dude.” He is learning how to make choices from his pal, Gracie, and in turn is teaching her how to play. “Joseph Xavier”, as we often call him, is still learning that he can decide where he goes to chill out or investigate in the house and what he wants as interactions. He is very submissive to people but doesn’t show fear and has met a variety successfully. Because his life has been very controlled to date, it is wonderful to see his little legs churning as he runs across the yard and explore the outdoors. A good eater, he has quickly adapted to the eating regimen in his foster home and loves his treats. There has been absolutely no food aggression or hoarding. In fact, he needs to be told it is meal time, almost as if giving him permission. Joey is housetrained and has not once bothered any objects in the house. He does not seem to know how to play with toys, but likes the company of a stuffed animal as well as a live one. He and Gracie snuggle together when they are not exploring the yard. His tiny bark is just now emerging as he joins Gracie and Toby protecting the territory – although he stays far back and lets them lead the defense against the wandering chickens and 4 wheelers. This snuggle bug does not know how to ask for a lap and the attention it brings but relaxes and sits with his humans for a long time as he is petted and cuddled. He will even fall asleep on the lap. Having come from a puppy mill to the cell dog program he is learning the joys of home living for the first time and is just now beginning to blossom and let his cute personality show. Joey has been great with the other dogs and has traveled into new situations with success. He has not been around cats in his current setting; however his adaptability would indicate that it might do well. He possibly has had no experience at all with cats or children. Joey is simply a great little guy will a future that could continue to blossom in a loving home.
Tiny Joey is ready to go out into the world and be loved. We can see him trotting along next to you on his leash and playing with his small toys in your living room. What an adorable boy! The best part is that there's even more to Joey... He is also a graduate of the famous cell dog program, where dogs are given intensive training for months under professional supervision so that they can become the very best family dogs possible. He learned to be house broken and has been taught many commands, both verbal and nonverbal. He has been crate trained, obedience trained and socialized. Graduates of this program are exceptional dogs in every way.
