All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Happy, sweet, playful, and laid back. That describes Shay perfectly. She will like going for walks with you, playing in your yard, but most of all she will enjoy hanging out with you. Dumped at the shelter with her puppies, all those little ones have now found homes, leaving Shay behind. Such an easy girl to love, we know she is going to make a perfect best friend and family dog to the lucky person who gives her a chance. She is the kind of dog who is outgoing, will greet your friends with a wagging tail, and will play nicely with other dogs, even cats. She is one easy girl! She always aims to please and never wants to give any trouble. This loving dog is hoping to give her whole heart to you for ever and always.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER CAREGIVER: Shay is a very sweet coonhound mix. She was picked up as a stray and pregnant! She gave birth to her 5 beautiful puppies at Hampshire County Animal Control in West Virginia. Her last pup was recently adopted leaving her feeling a bit lonely. Shay is a wonderful girl and enjoys the company of both dogs and cats. She would love a warm, soft bed to lay on and a fun pal to play with. She is truly a sweet girl and deserves the best after all she has been through.

AN UPDATE FROM ANOTHER CAREGIVER: Shay is incredibly sweet. She was picked up as a *pregnant* stray . She had her litter in this rural shelter. All of her gorgeous puppies were adopted (The shelter staff noted that she is wonderful with cats and even allowed them to lay with her and her nestled puppies when she was nursing.)
