Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Joe is an 8 month old Rottweiler or Rottweiler mix. He was found as a stray at the age of 4 months.  Joe apparently had a tough start in life, as he was frightened of everyone at first. It took him a while to warm up but now his little nub tail and his whole butt just wiggle with happiness. However, when he meets new people or is in new situations, his insecurity still shows. He needs time to meet new folks and will probably always be a little suspicious of new people.  He has really blossomed in his foster home, and with his foster parents he is very affectionate, loyal and playful.  Joe needs a home where his family understands that he will require time to adjust, where he will receive   proper socialization and positive reinforcement training classes. We are looking for a home with previous dog experience, and the time and patience to bring Joe along to reach his full potential as a loving family dog. If he receives that, his family will be rewarded with a very loving companion.  Joe lives with other dogs, male and female, large and small.  He loves to play and is great with the other dogs.  He is also living with cats and is great with them as well. Joe will do best in a home with NO small children.
