All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

LOLA was just given up....another senior...thrown to the wayside...
They said they can no longer afford care for her and she is such a sweetheart....not understanding why she is in a shelter after 8 yrs.
The give up owner stated Lola is a calm + friendly girl (we sooo agree), good w/children and cats, loves her crate, and barks when she needs to go outside.
We got little Lola out of the shelter and she is in temporary foster care but she so needs a forever home where she can get the attention she needs. She is very overweight but with proper food management and walking this will come off and she will be a healthy, happy little girl.
From the foster:
Lola rode fine in the car. She met the dogs here and was good with that too. She is wagging her tail while visiting the house so I guess the house is up to her liking ;)
She is definitely overweight which disables her a lot. She has trouble with the smallest steps so even coming through the doors at home is difficult for her (we have some places with a raised doorstep); I've been carrying her around somewhat; she seems to be used to this.
Other than that she is a very good will dog. She litterally loves children, especially the little ones which makes me think she's been around many in the past. There is not a bad fiber in this dog. She is all ready for you to cuddle and love. Lola promises to give you her whole heart in thanks.
Lola is really sweet as said before. She managed to go around the property
today. She follows the pack a mile away but she follows nonetheless. The walking albeit slow is not so much the issue. The issue as explained is the steps/raised levels, whatever goes up and down.
We have a deck for the dogs that we built like a ramp but there are still some important steps for her to to go over (entrance to doggie door and height of deck itself) which ask her a serious effort. The steps inside the house she can't manage and I have to carry her from kitchen to dogs' kitchen then from dogs' kitchen to outside. She's had a great day nonetheless, wagged her tail a lot and is not so impressed by the big dogs anymore. Her legs are really really short and her belly being so round even prevents her to get on a doggie bed I wanted her to use! I have to place her on top of it!!! can you imagine that? She needs a leveled floor plan and someone not afraid to give a little
hand at times ;)
