All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
About Dibs | |
|
|
Dibs is a happy dog. His ideal home would have men and active dog mates. He is a shy dog, as a survivor of a hoarding situation, we will never understand what he has gone through. He has some scars on his nose of unknown origin. When he first came he huddled in the corner of his run and just didn't want to move. He has made great strides and will wait at the front of his run when it's time to go out. The ONLY issue is he has to have a leash on him when he is outside to free run. He MUST have a fenced yard. Dibs does seem to accept men faster than women. Men have been able to play with him and have him come up to them. This is not the norm for Dibs. He is housebroken, very quiet, not destructive, not aggressive, just a perfect dog. There is not one dog that he has not gotten along with. He is outside with Boxers, St. Bernard's, Great Pyrenees, GSD's, Yorkies, Cattle Dogs, etc. He just loves to have someone to play with. He is not the lovely lap sitting dog that many are. Dibs is a dogs dog and loves to play and rough house with as many dogs as possible. He loves to run. His previous foster mother said that Dibs will wait until she went to bed and turned out the lights and he would jump into bed with her. He is learning. HE IS CAT FRIENDLY.
Dibs will need someone with patience who is willing to understand he has had a very hard beginning. He needs to know that he is safe. He absolutely loves being in the kennel and going out with all the other dogs.
Don't pass up this gentle soul who just wants a safe place and playmates to spend his days with.

Special Needs: MUST have fenced yard and would do best with another outgoing, social dog. the fence is due to skittishness and chance of bolting.. he does not jump or climb fences
