Hugo needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Little Hugo, only two years old, through no fault of his own experienced a seizure one day and ended up in the emergency room. He had a family at one time but they turned him in to animal control. The thought of a possible unknown physical defect scared them. We are happy to say Hugo has been fully vetted and is on medication to keep his seizures at bay.
The cause of his seizures and vision impairment is a genetic disorder in his brain. He still functions normally though and is a playful & affectionate little guy. He loves to hop and romp around the house, play with his stuffed toys and of course to be petted and have his belly rubbed.
When you look into his sweet Lhasa eyes, your heart will melt. He is full of love and enjoys being cradled and carried like the baby-dog he is. He likes to play tug of war and chew, so he will need lots of fun chew and tug toys and plenty of playtime to keep him busy. He is a charming boy who is housebroken, although sometimes he needs coaxing to go out in the cold. He is so adorable when he gets excited and prances around the house in all his puppy-like exuberance!
He isn't a fan of being crated, but does well when blocked off in a room by himself. Although it would be great if he were in a fenced in yard, his foster has recently said it is not really necessary as long as he is taken out on a leash, and walked to meet his toileting needs. As with any dog, if they are going to an unfenced area, they need to be on some type of leash to keep them safe and secure. Can you do this for Hugo?
