Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Here comes Quincy, all ready to be your best buddy and family dog. Still a young dog, full of life and that famous German shepherd loyalty, ready to give you his whole heart and life-long devotion. What a great dog! He is just spectacular to look at, with his strong body, thick, soft fur, and that long, fluffy tail. Yet even though he is majestic on the outside, it's his personality on the insdie that earns him the "great" title. Friendly as they come, he loves people, other dogs, is fine with cats, and is very intelligent. He could learn just about anything you might want to teach him.

He is calm and gentle and just a fantastic dog per the foster.. he's excellent with cats and with other dogs, but he'd love a nice fenced yard to run in. This boy is meant to use his high intelligence!

Let's let his foster describe him to you:

"He loves car rides and is great to walk- knows all his commands-- he also is totally fine with other dogs and gentle in his play with them and with kids- and is very comfortable and easy with cats. He is extremely friendly, easygoing personality and such a lovable disposition.  He is very gentle on a leash, and I had no problem whatsoever taking him outdoors for photos by myself.  He was quite a well-behaved gentleman. Quincy is  joy to behold! He has wonderful house manners, likes the cats and 2 larger dogs, could care less about horses but...chickens sure look like a fun chase toy! He is perfectly housebroken and does not bark unless it is important. He is not food aggressive, the Siamese cat tasted his food then rubbed on his legs while he ate dinner. He knows sit perfect and shake, haven't tried anything else yet, but he is very food motivated so should train to anything you like. He does not climb the kennel fence so will probably be good in any reasonable height fence. He is exactly 22 inches at the shoulder, he just looks big in his picture- that is his proud stance! At 58 pounds -medium  size he will make a perfect dog to play and run with. Come meet Quincy, you will love him as much as I do.
This wonderful dog could be all yours. To those of us who love shepherds, this one is a keeper!"
