Shadow (aka Shaddock)

From Heather Takeuchi...

I only had Shadow for a month, but in that month, I got to know a wonderful, loving dog. He had all the manners a gentleman should have. He was calm and quiet yet distinguished. The highlight of his days were going on our walks together. He would just trot along and loved seeing the other dogs in the neighborhood.

He was so good with my young children, always gentle and patient with them. When we would come home, he would be there waiting, wagging his tail and when we would take him on car rides, he loved it.

We are so sad to see him go so soon, but we know we loved him as much as we could in the short time we had him. He will be missed very much in our house.

Sheba
Alot of you remember Sheba as Old Fat Brown Sheba...I think that is the nickname that Carol Jordon gave her when she fostered her. Well, tomorrow at 4:30 I will release Old Fat Brown Sheba from all of her pain and suffering and discomfort. Her old body is wearing out and it is time for me to give her the best gift that I can give..to let her go to the Bridge where there will no more suffering and pain and she will be romping and playing with all of the others that have gone before her. She is one more tough old bird is all that I can say. She is 15 years and 2 months old. Sheba was rescued off of Martin Luther King in Greensboro with a litter of puppies (a joint rescue between ARFP and Triad SPCA).....I do believe that all of the puppies have long since passed. She went through several foster homes and came to live with me about 10 years ago. During that time she did find a home for a few years, but the owner lost her home and returned Sheba back to me. I was glad to have her back with me and I officially adopted her a few years ago...so she would know she was loved and had a legitimate home in case something were to happen to her(probably more for me than for Sheba....Sheba knew she had a loving home with me...) Sheba was blessed at one of The Blessing of The Animal Ceremonies with Ruff Love Rescue...she won oldest dog award at the blessing. Everything is in order for her passing. Just one thing...at 4:30 tomorrow, please do one kind act in memory of Sheba....let's keep paying it forward in Sheba's honor. Shelly

It is with a very heavy heart and extreme sadness that I tell you that Shelly is now in heaven. I will miss and love her forever. I took pictures of her up until the very end if you would like to see them. She was the sweetest angel to come into my life and I feel so sad and empty without her. I pray I was able to provide her with comfort till the end. Martine

Shortstack
It is with a heavy heart, much sadness and many tears that I write this email. In late September, ShortStack started limping and when he did not improve after a couple of days we took him to the vet. The vet took xrays, gave us anti-inflammatory medicine but ShortStack did not get better, in fact he was slightly worse. Back to the vet, they took more extensive xrays, and we found out he had cancer that had metastasized and there was nothing they could do. We took him for a second opinion and they gave the same opinion, they said he would only have 3-6 months. He couldn't walk any longer. We asked the vet for pain meds and they gave him a shot that was supposed to relieve his pain for three days or so, but it did not last the night. ShortStack whimpered all night, we then made the toughest decision ever to let him go. He passed on October 5. He was the best dog ever and he had a good life with us. We miss him so.

Sierra
This beauty was never your typical shepherd but she was loved and gone from us far too soon.
